About – STEVE WYNN

The Dream Syndicate emerged from the Los Angeles Paisley Underground scene in 1981 and quickly became pioneers of American indie rock. Their 1982 debut The Days of Wine and Roses—released on Slash Records—is now a cult classic and a cornerstone of post-punk and Americana. They toured with U2 and R.E.M., signed with A&M for 1984’s ambitious Medicine Show, and released two more albums (Out of the Grey, Ghost Stories) before disbanding in 1989.

Reuniting in 2012, the band returned with fresh energy, touring globally and releasing four critically acclaimed albums, including How Did I Find Myself Here? (2017), These Times (2019), and the experimental The Universe Inside (2020). Their upcoming 2025–2026 tour will mark the first time Medicine Show is performed live in full, alongside a deluxe reissue and vinyl release via their Down There label and Fire Records.

Steve Wynn, the band’s frontman, launched a prolific solo career after 1989, spanning genres from guitar rock to cinematic Americana. Albums like Kerosene Man, Here Come the Miracles (A2IM’s Best Rock/Alt Album, 2002), and Crossing Dragon Bridge earned wide acclaim. He formed the indie supergroups Gutterball, Danny & Dusty, and The Baseball Project (with members of R.E.M.), and composed music for award-winning Norwegian TV series Dag and Exit.

In 2024, Wynn released his memoir I Wouldn’t Say It If It Wasn’t True alongside his first solo album in over a decade, Make It Right. A box set, Decade, compiled his influential 2000s work and rare unreleased material.

WHAT DID I DO WITH STEVE WYNN

I had the great privilege of supporting Steve Wynn with Jamie Perrett during the UK leg of his 2025 tour, which included unforgettable shows at iconic venues like The Moth Club in London, St. Lawrence’s Church in Biddulph, and The Chapel in Nottingham. On March 24th, I helped keep the tour running smoothly by driving everyone around Oxted to the Ginistry gig. The tour wrapped up with memorable performances at The Laugharne Weekend in Laugharne on March 28th and Swiss Cottage in Twyford on March 29th. It was an incredible experience being part of such a passionate and talented team on the road.
